Finding it hard to part with this rare acquisition - it’s 32” square and in great condition, save for a few age related spots. Could be fantastic framed.
Of real interest to an Irish racing enthusiast.
This scarf was bought from an English lady who kept a lot of horses. Made by Wetherall in the 50!s it features the famous Irish horse who won the Aintree Grand National in 1958. The trainer was Irish too - Tom Taaffe (snr). The scarf depicts all the names of the horses, their dams, trainers and jockeys who won the race over the years.
I have never found one of these before - I do have a few similar Derby winners scarves of my own made by another British manufacturer. These are very collectible too.
